Went here for D's B'day with a group of workfriends.
Luxis http://luxis.co.jp/index2.htm All completely underground. There is a huuuge fish tank as you walk in and even the bathroom walls have fish swimming in them. I think we were the noisiest group on the whole floor... (as always.. living it up as customers from hell) ![]() The beers came out in cool bronze goblets and thats all I can remember because I blacked out when I saw the final bill.
Finally bought a new LCD TV.
32inch Sony Bravia LCD HD TV - KDL-32V2000 ![]() Also got Cable connected on the day.. Pure bliss... I bought D an Xbox 360 for his Bday last week.. the graphics look unreal. Now i cant watch cable because he is hogging the telly day and night. I shoulda seen it coming.. time to apply some house rules!
Now.. this might not be so exciting for some but Im stoked with this purchase!
Moving into a 40square meter apartment, you wouldnt think you'll need a hardcore vacuum cleaner to clean yer floors.. I dunno, It must be the lack of carpet in this house but so much hair and dust visibly accumulates in one day. (must be all the shagging we do.. haha) Anyway this is the shytbox I had before. 'The Swivel Sweeper' You've probably seen it on those late night TV shopping ads with the overreacting americans that go for 30mins long. (man I'm such a sucker for actually believing in it...) ![]() If you turned it on, it was like running a freakin tractor in your house and it could hardly pick up a grain of rice after 10mins (battery dying).. I didnt even get a set of steak knives with my purchase... TV shopping, never again!! dont believe the hype! Now, heres the new one I got. (just arrived today actually) The 'Electrolux ErgoRapido Cyclonic 2 in 1' quiet, chordless, powerful. ![]() the middle detaches and becomes a handy cleaner :) cool ey. ![]()
As ya'll know, things were a bit rocky for the first half of this year so we didnt really get a chance to celebrate our 5th anniversary.
Anyway, as belated as it can be.. (anniv is 30th of March) we finally bought eachother a celebration gift. D&G accessories this year.. (it also stands for his initials) (Last year we got eachother BVLGARI pendants) Here's the belt I got for D. nice hey? I borrow it sometimes hehe ![]() Here's the pendant D got me. ![]() ![]() so faaancy doncha thoink?
Heya! this is the painting I bought in Koh Samui.
I instantly fell in love with it because the colour scheme matched my room and the two girls kissing have such angelic expressions on their faces.. it was 'making me better feeling' (from Tom Green) I finally got it mounted and picked it up yesterday. Its 100cm x 80cm so its fairly big. What do you think? ![]() before I bought it, the artist showed me the original photograph he based the painting it on. I googled the photographer and found it straight away. heres the original by George Holz. http://www.georgeholz.com/ ![]() Notice that the person on the right side is a male.. pretty good interpretation dont you think? I like my version better :)
On Tuesday we went to the Koto fireworks.
It was smaller scale compared to the Sumida one we went to on the weekend (less people, less advertised) so we actually weren't expecting much. To our surprise, because they shot the fireworks so low the display was amazingly close and much more impressive.. along with the explosive sounds and ash falling on our faces.... it was way better than the Sumida one! (and it was free) check it out... its beautiful! ![]() my head is so fat ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() OMG fire hazzard! ![]()
We went to the Sumida River Fireworks last week!
Its the biggest (and most crowded) firework festival in Tokyo. 20000 shots (basically an hours worth non-stop explosions) and up to a million people coming to see the show. We chose to cruise on a boat this time to avoid the masses. It was a bit expensive but we got our $$'s worth with bottomless beer, course dinner, a better view and of course no queues for the toilet. Also, its a tradition to dress in a yukata (summer kimono) for these summer time events and my mother kindly bought me one. altho I had to exchange the one she sent me because of bad colour/pattern/taste, what a kind and lovely gesture mother! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
an update finally!
heres some of my favs from the trip. oooh reminisce the days.......... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
